Return Policy

Plants guarantee


We guarantee our plants for a period of 7 days after receipt, providing they have not been removed from their original plant pot and original substrate.
We will not be compensating for damage that is related to reasonable plant stress, a non-limitative list of examples of reasonable plant stress are:

  • Small folds in leaves
  • A small loss in foliage (always to be seen in relation to the whole plant)

There should be no root disturbance or any cutting of the plant for a minimum of 7 days after receipt. Failure to adhere to this process will render our guarantee null and ​void.

In case you are not happy with your order we kindly ask that you contact us at info@specialhouseplants.be and provide images of the plant within 7 days of delivery. Not ​providing these details timely will always result it to be declared null and void. You will be required to ship the plant in the original substrate pot (if applicable) and packaging ​back to us for a full refund including return shipping.

We do not accept plant returns:

  • Without prior explicit confirmation from us on your received complaint.
  • In inadequate packaging such as but not limited to envelopes or boxes that are too small for the plant. We kindly ask that you do not ship plants to us in a manner that ​you would not like us to ship them to you.

We reserve the right to determine the appropriateness of care before authorizing a return and/or refund.

Refunds and/or replacements will always be given at the discretion of the management of ‘Special Houseplants’

 

Right of withdrawal


Plants, seeds, cuttings and other perishable products are excluded from the legal right of withdrawal because of their perishable nature during the withdrawal period, as mentioned in the article VI, 53,4° of the Code of Economic Law. Nonetheless, we do provide in a plant guarantee as detailed in the section ‘return policy’ above. The following only applies to other products.

You have the right to withdraw from the contract within 14 days without having to state the reason. The withdrawal period expires 14 days after the day on which you or a third party designated by you and who is not the carrier, acquires physical possession of the goods. In order to exercise the right of withdrawal, you must inform us of your intention to withdraw from the contract by an unequivocal declaration (e.g. in writing, by fax or by e-mail). You can use the sample withdrawal form ( See Appendix I: "Model form for right of withdrawal" at the bottom of this page) for this purpose, but you are not obliged to do so. In order to comply with the withdrawal period, it is sufficient to send your communication regarding the exercise of your right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.


Effects of the right of withdrawal


If you terminate this Agreement, we will refund all payments received from you, including delivery charges (except for any additional charges resulting from your choice of a type of delivery other than the cheapest standard delivery type offered by us), without undue delay and in any event no later than 14 days from the day we are informed of your decision to terminate. If you return only part of your order, the delivery costs will not be refunded. We will reimburse you using the same payment method you used to make the original transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not be charged for this reimbursement. We may delay the refund until we have received the returned goods, or you have provided proof of their return, whichever comes first.

You must return or hand over the goods to us without undue delay and in any event no later than 14 days from the day you notified us of your decision to cancel the contract. You are in time if you return the goods before the 14-day period has expired.

The direct cost of returning the goods will be borne by you. You shall only be liable for any diminution in the value of the goods resulting from the use of the goods beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.
