Activated carbon
Activated carbon prevents root rot, mould and deceases in your plants.
Another name you will often find back on the internet for activated carbon is activated charcoal.
Activated carbon filters water and air and removes contaminants & toxins.
"Activated" refers to the process used to create it. the normal carbon is undergoes a high temperature treatment which makes it expand and much more effective in its filtering ability. Because of this process it's about 100x more effective than normal charcoal/carbon.
